Heart Link is our new charity partner!

Who are they?

Heart Link are a support group based in Glenfield Hospital, Leicester for parents and families who have a child suffering from a heart defect. They provide medical equipment, play and distraction equipment for children at the hospital, and much more.

Why Heart Link?

Every employee was given the chance to nominate a charity, and then got to vote for the shortlist. PKF Cooper Parry Audit Manager, Mel Hopwell put Heart Link forward because of the work they’ve done with her son, Zac.

“My youngest son was born with 2 heart conditions. He turned 4 in June this year and has already undergone surgery 5 times so far in his short life.

Heart Link have helped us more than you can imagine and we are overjoyed that Cooper Parry will now be partnered with them.”

With Heart Link being a smaller charity, we know we can make a massive difference. Glenfield hospital has been under continued threat of closure for several years, despite being one of the leading facilities for children’s heart services. Sadly, it’s drastically underfunded by the NHS.

What we’ll be getting up to

Last year we managed to raise £27,000 for The Prince’s Trust. We held charity auctions and cake sales and climbed mountains in the Three Peaks Challenge. We also competed in house for our ‘Be Brave’ Entrepreneurial Challenge – where four teams were given a small sum of cash to turn into as much profit as possible.

We’re planning equally as exciting events to support our fundraising for Heart Link. The first being a team Sky Dive this weekend with our very own Tax Associate, Jack Carter taking the plunge!

Alongside our commitment to Heart Link, we’ll also be giving 365 days of time to other causes and charities in our local communities.
