Springing forward by giving back

Over the past few months, we’ve climbed mountains, run round cities and painted sheds. We’ve boiled eggs, chased rabbits and cycled over 280 miles.

You might think we’ve got a strange bunch of hobbies. But actually, it’s all been to support charities and the communities which surround us.

Back in the summer, 6 of us took part in the Three Peaks Challenge, helping to raise over £5,000 for The Prince’s Trust. They support hard to reach 18-30-year-olds to transform their lives by building successful businesses and social enterprises.

Then, this September we joined our colleagues at PKF Cooper Parry to contribute over 1000 hours of volunteering to 18 charities, in just one week!

At the RSPCA we cleaned out hutches, socialised dogs and cuddled kittens. We baked enough bread to make 250 sandwiches and handed them out to the homeless for Tracey’s Street Kitchen. And we did some gardening and painting for Rainbows Children’s Hospice.

And there have been some great individual efforts too:

Tony, who’s always dreamed of winning the Tour de France, cycled from Solihull to Dublin to raise money for Marie Curie Hospice who provide expert care to the terminally ill.

And Rachel, who’s just run the Leicester half marathon for Cancer Research UK. Even more amazing when you hear she was only diagnosed with breast cancer herself just over a year ago.

It’s important to us to ‘Be Generous’. In fact, it’s one of our core values. And we’re really proud to have been able to support these great causes.
